Thank you all for your beautiful submissions of photos and video during this Advent Challenge. Today’s photo was another sentimental submission from SuperDewa. She managed to celebrate Christmas, Chanukah, and a birthday all in one photo.
family traditions
Superdewa says, “This is a busy time of year for us. Not only do we try to meld our Christmas and Chanukah traditions, but we also have both our girls’ birthdays to celebrate. This year my older daughter turned 13 on the 8th day of Chanukah, and all she wanted to do that was special for her birthday was to make a gingerbread house. So even though we do have a Christmas tree, and gingerbread houses are associated with
Christmas, we had that house up and lit as a celebration of my daughter’s 13th birthday. As soon as we finished eating, we devoured that thing!”
So, their family was celebrating Chanukah, Christmas, and their daughter’s very special 13th birthday all in one yummy memorable evening. It’s great to see my photo up here! Thank you! I think I missed it during my week of boilers and water heaters breaking down.
