Don’t know an F-stop from a pit stop?
No problem, you can still take great photos!
Remember the days of print film, when you would take 36 photos, send them off to some lab, and anxiously rip open that envelope of prints?
Sometimes you were pleased with what you got back, but more often than not, you simply shook your head and wondered why your photos didn’t look like the scene you experienced.
Where was the joy in the kids’ faces?
Heck, where were the kids’ faces?
Now the world of digital cameras makes it simple to immediately correct any problem in your photos, provided you took a decent shot in the first place.
Want your photos to really stand out?
Here’s a simple tip that will immediately improve 90% of your photos:
“What’s the subject?”
Ask yourself that before snapping the photo.
Then look at the LCD screen, make sure the subject of the photo is clear, and voila, you’ll have a great shot.
For instance, you’ve got a toy filled room with a teeny tiny 20 lb. bundle of joy in the middle. If you simply take a snapshot of the room, your child will be lost amidst the toys.
In the photo below, we know the kids are the subject of the photo, but which kids? My eye is drawn all over the picture.
Photo with Bad Composition
By simply zooming in and filling most of the frame with your child, the subject is clear!
The picture at the top clearly shows the baby as the subject, but would you believe that photo was taken in a cluttered room?
