Our thoughts and prayers are with the Japanese people directed affected by the recent earthquake. It has also had some unforeseen consequences around the globe.
Do you shoot your home movies on video tape? Be it HDV or miniDV, it’s time to stock up. The Sony plant in Japan which manufactures those tapes was severely damaged. Luckily, no one was injured, but they have ceased manufacturing tapes.
You can read more about it here. Other brands of tape, such as Fuji or Panasonic may be used instead, but they will likely see an increase in demand.

Hey, that’s really sad news, that Sony plant gets damaged severely but good that no one get injured in this, it shows one should have to alter their choice if Sony is one his favorite brands.
